KENNETH E. FRIESS
President

Ken has over 45 years experience in the construction and real estate industries, as well as wide practical knowledge and experience in academics, business, politics, and urban planning. He is actively involved in managing projects, construction mediation and arbitration, construction defect research and analysis, conflict resolution, land use management, government relations, and construction litigation.

Ken started a full-service general contracting business in 1981. His knowledge and experience spans academics, business, civic affairs and urban planning. He also has a PhD. in Leadership and Human Behavior. Ken served 17 years as a San Juan Capistrano City Council member; including four terms as Mayor. He has served on many boards of directors; including the San Joaquin Hills and Foothill-Eastern Transportation Corridor Agencies, San Juan Capistrano Redevelopment Agency, Capistrano Valley Water District, San Juan Capistrano Housing Corp. and the Orange County Affordable Housing Task Force.

As a past president of Mary Erickson Community Housing, Ken was instrumental in raising awareness for community-supported affordable housing. He is also a past President and founding board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley.

 

 

SUZANNE TYLER
Chief Financial Officer

Initially retained as a consultant to set up the company’s accounting system in August 1995, she also developed its human resources department and is responsible for overseeing all financial and administrative activity. Suzanne grew up in the construction industry and has over 25 years of direct construction accounting experience. Her broad knowledge of computer applications and continuing efforts at self-education provide a strong base for innovation and growth in our company. Suzanne is a California Notary Public and a member of the National Association for Female Executives.

In 1997, as a single parent, she participated in the affordable housing program provided by the City of San Juan Capistrano and managed by Mary Erickson Community Housing. It was with great pride that she was elected to the Board of Directors for Mary Erickson Community Housing and served on their executive board for three years. She is past President of the Board of Directors for the South Orange County School of the Arts and served  on the Board of Directors for the California Conservatory of the Arts. 

 

 

DANIEL FRIESS
Director of Business Development

Dan brings a high level of education and experience to the company. He holds a Masters Degree in Construction Management and Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development from USC. While earning his bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning at UC San Diego, he became the youngest general contractor in California at the time of his licensure.

Dan specializes in construction cost estimating and control, scheduling and resource allocation, productivity analysis, value engineering, risk assessment and mitigation, feasibility studies, due diligence research and construction defect analysis. He is a past officer and board member of the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Capistrano Scholarship Fund Committee. Further, Dan holds memberships in the International Conference of Building Officials, American Institute of Architects, Building Owners and Managers Association and is certified by the Construction Specification Institute.

 

 

MIKE OSPRING
Director of Operations

Joining the company in 2004, Mike is the most recent addition to our team. Mike grew up around construction here in Orange County working summers and weekends while in high school. Upon graduating, he served in the United States Navy as a propulsion engineer aboard the USS Ranger CV61. Mike completed 2 tours of duty overseas and received an Honorable discharge in 1984. His time in the Navy gave Mike a solid grounding in the value of teamwork, organization and leadership which he would continue to develop and utilize throughout his career.

In 1985, Mike re-entered the construction industry in the roofing field where he worked continuously for the next 19 years becoming an expert in construction defect, water proofing and water intrusion in addition to conventional roofing applications. Having owned and operated his own roofing company, Mike is well educated in both administrative and field operations. Today Mike manages commercial T/I projects, design/build projects and works as a project consultant/construction manager for several local municipalities.
